Depending on your learning goals, we offer courses in either Modern Standard Arabic or Egyptian Colloquial Arabic. We believe that tailoring our courses to individual needs is key to successful language learning.
In the near future, we plan to introduce courses in various Arabic dialects.
That’s a great and common question for Arabic learners. The best answer really depends on your goals for learning Arabic. Let’s consider a few points to help you decide:
Modern Standard Arabic:
Usage: It’s the official language in the Arab world and is used in books, articles, formal speeches, and the Quran.
Benefits: Learning it allows you to understand classical Arabic literature and communicate in conferences and formal events across the Arab world.
Difficulty: It can be more challenging at first, especially regarding grammar and syntax.
Egyptian dialect:
Usage: It’s the most widely used dialect in Arab media, films, and TV series, making it easier to learn through available content.
Benefits: Learning it makes it easier to communicate with Egyptians, understand Egyptian culture, and watch Egyptian movies and TV shows.
Difficulty: It might be easier to start with, but it differs from Modern Standard Arabic in grammar and pronunciation.
My advice:-
If you want to understand Arabic culture more deeply and develop your reading and writing skills, Modern Standard Arabic is the better choice.
If you want to communicate daily with Egyptians and watch Egyptian movies and TV shows, Egyptian dialect is the more suitable choice.
